We can understand the thought behind wanting proper and thorough pressure regulation throughout the system, however, I am happy to say that on most single-zone systems, this can normally be achieved with a single pressure regulator, rather than multiple. 

Not only does this save on money, but it also saves on materials and time during setup. Our pressure regulators are designed to operate between 30 GPH - 420 GPH in the low-flow models, meaning as long as the system uses 30 GPH and no more than 420 GPH, you can use a single pressure regulator for the entire system. 

If you will be using multiple zones, you will need a pressure regulator for each zone as they operate as their own individual systems.

If your system will use more than 420 GPH, you will need to use a higher flow-rated pressure regulator.


Pressure regulators require 2 things to operate:


1. Inlet pressure differential - Most pressure regulators require at least 10 PSI pressure differential to operate properly. For example, if you have a 15 PSI pressure regulator, the water source it is connected to must provide 25 PSI or higher to operate properly


2. Flow rate - All pressure regulators have both a minimum and maximum flow rate they are rated to handle. Please note, the minimum flow rate listed is what must be consumed/used by the watering devices on the system. This is not based on the flow rate of the water source. It is based on the flow rate emission specifically from the watering devices.
