Here are the steps to change the engine springs and the tools we used.
Philips Screwdriver
Flathead Screwdriver
Needle Nose Pliers
Note: Not necessary to take off the lip seals unless you are changing them out as well.
Step 1
Remove the engine assembly from the lower half of the unit.
Step 2
Remove the screws from the top of the engine assembly.
Step 3
Remove the connecting rod from the bar/engine assembly. Just give it a slight twist and it will feel like it unlocks and then pulls out.
Step 4
Remove the center locking bolt with a flat head screwdriver.
Step 5
Remove the plastic space bar
Step 6
Remove the pump assembly to reveal the engine springs.
Step 7
Remove the old springs. Use a flat blade screwdriver to pry up and off then replace it with the new springs. NOTE: Pay close attention to the spring orientation before removing it so you get it back in the same way.
